BEIRUT: Internet giant Google marked Lebanon’s Independence Day Friday with a doodle bearing Beirut’s famous Pigeon Rock.
The multicolored Google logo was replaced Friday morning with the Lebanese landmark on both the search giant’s local (google.com.lb) and global (google.com) homepages.
Clicking the logo sends visitors to a search-results page with “Lebanon Independence Day" as query.
The company has used doodles in previous years to mark Lebanon’s Independence.
On Nov. 22, 1943, Lebanon gained its independence ending years of French rule.
